Wim Hof History

Wim Hof lived and experienced the element to become more aware of the body and mind. Nature has always been his teacher. He found that breathing, as well as overall mindset, works more efficiently under extreme weather conditions which, in turn, results in I greater endurance. Throughout the years, Wim has further designed and perfected his techniques by consistently expanding his boundaries. His stunts landed him a great deal of exposure and the nickname “The Iceman”, holder of numerous Guinness World Records, including:


• Climbing Mount Everest past death zone (7500 meters) wearing nothing but shorts and shoes.
• Completing a full marathon in temperatures close to -20C above the polar circle in Finland
• Taking the longest ice bath (1 hour 53 minutes)
• Running a full marathon in the desert of Namibia without drinking

Everything changed when the method was put under scientific scrutiny. There has been scientific breakthrough after scientific breakthrough to discover not only can Wim influence his body and mind in ways we never thought were possible, that in fact, with dedication anyone could benefit from this method and has formed a simplistic and structured method accessible to everyone of us, known as the Wim Hof Method (WHM).

It’s super important when practicing we distinguish between Wim and his capabilities and the Wim Hof method. They should not be compared and no one should try and attempt what Wim does. It’s supposed to be fun, but lets make sure we all play safe.

Through conscious breathing techniques, cold exposure and yoga movements – is a way to punish ourselves between various extremes. It has a deep impact on the body and mind, the ideal training ground for learning to deal with discomfort, and increase our resilience while keeping us Happy, Strong and Healthy.

We will be exploring the advanced ways of breathing that can bring about profound benefits. Improving your immune function, lowering inflammation, reducing anxiety and much more. Not only will we practice the Wim Hof breathing together we will work on technique and understand more of the science behind it all.

We will be going deeper into your experience with the cold and the ice bath, to which there are many levels of the journey, and developing the trust that the cold is your teacher. How it works in harmony with the breath work and exploring more of the power of the mind.
