Wim Hof method

Wim Hof in the snow

Wim Hof History

Wim Hof lived and experienced the element to become more aware of the body and mind. Nature has always been his teacher. He found that breathing, as well as overall mindset, works more efficiently under extreme weather conditions which, in turn, results in I greater endurance. Throughout the years, Wim has further designed and perfected his techniques by consistently expanding his boundaries. His stunts landed him a great deal of exposure and the nickname “The Iceman”, holder of numerous Guinness World Records, including:

• Climbing Mount Everest past death zone (7500 meters) wearing nothing but shorts and shoes.
• Completing a full marathon in temperatures close to -20C above the polar circle in Finland
• Taking the longest ice bath (1 hour 53 minutes)
• Running a full marathon in the desert of Namibia without drinking

Everything changed when the method was put under scientific scrutiny. There has been scientific breakthrough after scientific breakthrough to discover not only can Wim influence his body and mind in ways we never thought were possible, that in fact, with dedication anyone could benefit from this method and has formed a simplistic and structured method accessible to everyone of us, known as the Wim Hof Method (WHM).

It’s super important when practicing we distinguish between Wim and his capabilities and the Wim Hof method. They should not be compared and no one should try and attempt what Wim does. It’s supposed to be fun, but lets make sure we all play safe.

If you want to take a closer look at the science, I often post updates in my newsletter but the Wim Hof Method website is a great resource

"Really lovely day with Angela on the Fundamentals course. Angela holds the space so well and really listened to the groups thoughts and questions. She put everyone at ease and because of this the group gelled really well. Everyone was supportive of each other and the experience made for an amazing day. I’d fully recommend Angela to anyone wanting to start - or continue their cold water immersion experience. Thank you for a fantastic day."

Angela’s delivery of the workshop was magical. The right amount of sass and science to make it a fun, connected and interactive experience for all I felt immediately at ease and knew I was safe This helped me get the most out of the day by openly sharing, showing vulnerability and then huge exhilaration at the end There was no holding back and the group definitely experienced oneness as we learnt more about Wim’s Method . Thank you, really thank you

Nurturing your body and mind is essential for happy healthy living, to give you strength when you need it and to give you a release when you need it.

-Angela

Firstly a HUGE thank you for today, it was utterly amazing from start to finish, I haven't enjoyed myself like that for a long time! The breathing exercise blew my mind, I have never experienced anything like it. And as you know, I honestly thought there was no way I could stay in the ice bath for 2 minutes, but with your help I did it ..... yippee!!!! I am still buzzing!
“OMG I have just had the best morning ever! I am feeling on fire, focused, wanting to do this every morning. I would definitely recommend a session with The Ice Warrior, she is one inspiring woman.”

Hi Angela - needed 24 hours to process the experience from yesterdays workshop! I truly believe people are sent into your life when you need them most - this became very clear to me yesterday as I was able to safely and with trust deal with raw grief which had settled very firmly in my heart - you gave me the tools to release it and I am forever grateful. Today I feel lighter, less sad and hopeful to move forward and look for joy again. I certainly will be joining the ice warrior tribe as I already feel stronger! With love and gratitude.

benefits of cold therapy

Frequent exposure to cold is linked to a number of different health benefits. For example, scientists have found evidence that exposure to cold speeds up metabolism. Another benefit of exposing your body to cold is that it reduces inflammation, swelling and sore muscles. Therefore, many athletes use ice baths and other types of exposure to cold as a means to speed up recovery after physical exercise.
Improved immune response
Reduced inflammation
More focus and clarity
Improved quality of sleep
“I felt great after our breathwork session. My lungs felt twice the size.”
